Best Brunch Spots Near Cincinnati

June 23rd, 2022 by

There’s nothing quite like going to brunch on the weekend and enjoying a hearty meal from breakfast and lunch menus. Brunch lets you celebrate a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning or make up for missing breakfast during the week. At Performance Toyota, we also love the taste and nutritional benefits of brunch, so we want to share some of the best brunch spots in Cincinnati and beyond.

That said, we hope you will come over and visit our showroom floor after your brunch to check out our inventory of new and used Hondas. We can help you drive one home today so you can show up in style next time you honor that brunch invite.

The Baker’s Table

The Baker’s Table in Newport, Kentucky, elevates the brunch experience with its delightful farm-to-table menu. They are open Thursday through Sunday and modify their menus based on the seasonal availability of ingredients. This restaurant does things differently and offers prix fixe dining with a choice of two or three courses. Menus for the week are posted every Thursday.

The ever-changing menu means that you won’t know what you’re being served until the Thursday of the week of your reservation. However, at the restaurant you can expect salads prepared with ingredients such as rapiniGrana cheese, collards, bread crumbs, radishes, and more. Pasta is served as one of the courses and locally sourced protein as the main course. You can finish your meal with a delicate dessert made with fresh fruits, creams, and cheeses.

Otto’s on Main

Otto’s on Main has been a fixture in Covington, Kentucky, for almost 20 years. The atmosphere is simple Americana, while the food blends American and Southern flavors and texture. This spot is known for its Bloody Mary’s, with the rest of the bar offering adult beverages that back up the eclectic and creative menu selections. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Some menu items are the Benedict Otto’s and the B.L.F.G.T. (bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomatoes). You’ll also find classic buttermilk pancakes smothered in delicious fruity toppings and fresh whipped cream. We also recommend the lox and bagel featuring a hard-boiled egg, capers, red onions, fresh dill, and cream cheese. Looking for something that sticks to the ribs? Try the steak and egg burrito made with seasoned beef tenderloin, egg, potatoes, cheddar, roasted red peppers, black beans, corn, onions, and spicy sour cream.

French Crust Cafe and Bistro

Come for the decor, stay for the light and tasty cuisine at French Crust Cafe and Bistro. While the cafe isn’t strictly a brunch spot, it does have brunch hours and a breakfast menu that balances French cuisine with American tastes. This restaurant carries a broad selection of colorful, vintage French advertising posters. You can examine the bright, detailed designs as you enjoy a plate of Croque monsieur followed by a sweet or savory croissant.

The breakfast menu, also known as le petite dejeuner, features items that include the omelette du jour. If you don’t want to be adventurous, try the eggs Benedict made with two poached eggs, roasted tomatoes, and wilted spinach placed on a homemade brioche bun. Choose the scrambled egg sandwich with goat cheese, confit tomatoes, and asparagus on a croissant for a flavorful meal that covers all the food group bases.

Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey

Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey is another restaurant that combines brunch with other services. They open at 8 AM on Saturday and 10 AM on Sunday to serve breakfast and brunch. The menu and interior design are heavily influenced by the Old West, providing that vintage ambiance as you dine on freshly made biscuits and meals served in cast-iron pans, steel dishes, or wooden planks. The food is paired with cocktails like the Gold Fashioned, Johnny’s Saddlebag, and the Boomtown Gold Rush to elevate the dining experience.

Menu items include Gold Shoes, which is a plate of three biscuits with a choice of gravies that ranges from peppery to savory. The Motherlode kicks the traditional waffle up a notch with smoked blueberry thyme syrup covering biscuit waffle, crispy confit chicken, and grilled habanero butter. Another item we recommend here is Pullen’s Poutine made with Yukon potatoes, sauteed poblano peppers, crimini mushrooms, mushroom gravy, smoked cheddar, and sometimes with an egg or fried chicken.

The Echo Restaurant

The Echo Restaurant launched in 1945 and hasn’t moved from its location on Edwards Road since, despite going through a few owners. The restaurant has also largely retained its original interior design and features both charming counter and table seating. The current owner, Stephanie Surgeon, has remained committed to serving a satisfying brunch menu in a classic setting.

Some of the menu items are a Business Man’s Breakfast of two eggs, bacon, home fries and toast, corned beef hash with two eggs on top, a breakfast burrito made with a flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, and cheese. Eggs Benedict is also offered in multiple variations.
