Most of the 2023 Camry trim levels remain the same for the 2023 model year. The base trim is the LE. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and has automatic bi-LED headlights, power-adjustable side exterior mirrors, LED taillights, keyless entry, and washer-activated intermittent windshield wipers. The SE is the sporty Camry. It comes with 18-inch black alloy wheels, color-keyed heated side exterior mirrors, color-keyed rocker panels, and dual exhaust tips.

A step up to the XLE adds full LED headlights to the LE’s equipment, along with 18-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, integrated turn signals, and Smart Key keyless entry. The XSE builds on the SE with 19-inch gloss-black wheels, dual exhaust, a sport-tuned suspension, and a color-keyed rear spoiler.

The Camry TRD stands out from the other trim levels flashing a gloss black grille with a mesh insert, a gloss-black front splitter, side aero skirts, a gloss-black pedestal rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser with a red pinstripe.

2023 Exterior Updates

One of the changes for the 2023 Camry is an update to the SE’s Nightshade Package. It adds a black headlight and taillight trim to blend in with the black grille in the front, the rear spoiler, and the mirror caps. The Nightshade package also gains 19-inch matte bronze wheels. This package is available in several different exterior colors, including Midnight Black, white, or the new Reservoir Blue. Another significant update for the 2023 Camry is that the Nightshade Edition is now offered on all four-cylinder models, and it’s now available with the hybrid models.

Interior Features for the 2023 Toyota Camry

The 2023 Toyota Camry comes well-equipped with plenty of comfort and convenience features in the cabin. The base LE trim starts with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, one-touch up-and-down power windows, cloth upholstery, and a 60/40-split rear seat. If you step up to the SE, it continues with its sporty features on the inside. The SE comes with Toyota’s SofTex synthetic leather upholstery with cloth inserts and has a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

The XLE upgrades the interior with a power-adjustable passenger seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and wood inlay interior trim elements. A heated steering wheel is optional for the XLE. The XSE builds on the SE’s interior equipment with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and paddle shifters. It also offers the option for perforated red leather upholstery, and you can get the heated steering wheel with this trim.

Safety Systems for the 2023 Toyota Camry

Every 2023 Toyota Camry comes with the latest Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ group of safety systems. This bundle includes a long list of driver aids, including a pre-collision system, a road sign assist reader, pedestrian detection, intersection support, and a dynamic radar cruise control system in the LE and SE trims. The rest of the lineup and the hybrid models have a full-speed dynamic radar cruise control system. This suite of safety systems includes lane-keeping technology, lane departure alert with a system that’ll make minor steering corrections, and lane-tracing assist. It also has a sway warning system and automatic high-beam headlights.

In addition to all these features, the Camry offers a blind-spot monitor to help detect and warn drivers when vehicles approach their blind spot. The rear cross-traffic alert system will provide some added peace of mind by helping detect vehicles approaching from either side of the Camry when backing out of a parking spot. These two features come standard with the TRD, XLE, and XSE trims and are available as an option for other trims.

Technology Features for the 2023 Toyota Camry

The base Camry’s infotainment system uses a 7-inch floating touch-screen display. It features Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It also comes with satellite radio capability, Siri Eyes Free, and hands-free phone capabilities for texting and calling. The advanced voice recognition system makes it easy to control the system, whether you want to play music or make a phone call. Bluetooth wireless technology is also standard.

The higher-end trims get Toyota Audio Plus with a larger 9-inch touch-screen display. This system comes with a Toyota Connected Services trial with a Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect up to five mobile devices. An upgraded JBL stereo is available, and you can also get the Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation system with over-the-air updates.

Powertrains for the 2023 Toyota Camry

The base engine for the gas-powered Camry is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 201 horsepower. It works with Toyota’s eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional. The TRD model gets a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 301 horsepower. This more powerful engine is available with the XLE and XSE trims.

The Camry Hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor combined to generate 208 horsepower. A lithium-ion battery sits under the rear seats and contributes to providing the Camry with a lower center of gravity, which results in even better handling.

The 2023 Toyota Camry didn’t see a lot of changes for the new model year. However, the updates to the Nightshade Package give this sedan a bold look that makes it stand out from other sedans in its segment.
